What have we been up to?

Bits and pieces from the last 2 weeks:

Currently his favourite game – Catch the Fish!

Being grown up carrying his own bag to swimming.

Helping Sam the Ant climb the ladder.

We’ve also been to sign the new lease for our house. We had to wait a while and told Monster we needed to be quiet as the people were very busy doing work.

He decided he needed to do busy work too!

We’ve been out and about on the bus lots.

They’re now starting to decorate them up for Christmas!

And as always there was lots of this:

Building rockets and flying them round the room!

Sunday Funday (11/11/12) – Taronga Zoo

This Sunday our weekly outing was the zoo.

We had pancakes for breakfast.

We ate lunch on the way there.

We travelled over by ferry.

We go to the zoo quite a lot (we have an annual pass). Monster is a big animal fan. When asked recently what he wanted to do when he was older he said ‘zookeeper’!

Many times we’ve been and asked, โ€œWhat would you like to see next?โ€

And received the answer, โ€œDinosaur!โ€

So we explained that dinosaurs aren’t alive any more and don’t live in zoos.

Then today we go to the zoo and this is what we saw:

Dinosaurs!

It was a very busy day.

There was a very tired Monster walking back to the entrance.

He had a lovely day though ๐Ÿ™‚

Birthday Week Fun!

A bit late, but our last week in pictures:

There was lots of playing with birthday presents this week, including…

…taking photos, …

… playing drums, …

… and playdoh. (There was also lots of lego and trains, but I don’t have photos of them!)

There was also lots of swimming as it was pretty hot, …

… both at swimming lessons …

… and at home.

I was taken on a boat driven safari at playgroup to see crocodiles, whales and penguins!

He had lots of fun climbing and sliding at soft play.

And on Friday we went to a Corroboree at nursery where there was aboriginal singing and dancing followed by a BBQ and ice poles.

Plus we got to watch his favourite activity that he does at nursery every week – racing down the hill on the trucks!

3rd Birthday Celebrations!

Monster turned 3 on Sunday!

He requested a green dragon cake with red fire coming out of it’s mouth.

We set out all his presents, put bits together and put up the banner ready for the morning.

We started the day singing Happy Birthday and blowing out the candles.

If you can’t have cake for breakfast on your birthday, when can you?

We started our journey into the city by train, but due to trackwork ended up on the rail replacement coach. Monster chose to sit on the very back row!

We went bowling in Darling Harbour. He sat very patiently waiting for his turn.

He was very excited when it was his turn (and also liked that the big TV screens were tuned to Cartoon Network which was showing a Lego show)!

We all clapped whenever the ball knocked some pins down.

After lunch we went to Wildlife Sydney. Monster took his new camera to take photos too.

We were lucky as the wombat is not usually out and about when we visit.

We saw the new echidna exhibit.

There were baby emus.

Lots of wallabies had had joeys.

Even the crocodile was out of the water for us to have a look at.

We had a really good day ๐Ÿ™‚

M is for Monster

Very appropriate I thought, what with Halloween and it being his birthday this week ๐Ÿ™‚

Our week in pictures

Making Eggbox Ghosts – painting it white and adding googly eyes.

Mmm, Marshmellows! Practising co-ordination using chopsticks.

Monster puzzles. (He’s saying “Look, I did it!”)

Ready to do some mixing.

Decorating our monster biscuits ready for …

… our Halloween party tea, whilst watching Monsters Inc. Spot the little hand that’s eager to start eating grapes! And see our Eggbox ghosts decorating the table ๐Ÿ™‚
