It’s true that your children will copy the things that you say! Two conversations from the past week:
“Sauce please Daddy,”
Daddy passes the sauce. “Here you go,”
“Good boy Daddy!”
And then today when I showed Monster something I had made for Daddy:
“Yeah! Good boy Mummy!”
I had to explain that Mummy wasn’t a boy, Mummy was a girl, so he corrected himself:
“Good girl Mummy!”
I couldn’t think of a good way to explain that was something we said to him but that he didn’t say to us!!
Every night Monster reads books in bed before he goes to sleep. We have lots of books, but at the moment his favourite are the letter books, where each page has pictures for a certain letter. The last page has a match the letter to the picture activity, which is a bit too old for him but he insists on doing it anyway.
So it goes a little bit like this:
“P, p, p, p pencil!”
We clap him and we move on.
“S, s, s, s, sun!
A, a, a, a, a pencil!”
🙂 It’s not right, but that’s a blinkin’ good try!!
This is kind of an online diary where I can share my photos and describe all the things I don’t want to forget as Monster gets older.
I read lots of blogs, and have lurked around the world of blogging picking up some super ideas of things I want to try at home. Lots of blogs link up to each other and share ideas on a theme, and I’ve often thought “I could do that, I have something to share,” but you need a blog of your own to do that – so here I am!
It seems to be a blog convention that children are referred to by their initial or a nickname to stay moderately anonymous to the world at large. This seems sensible to me, and Monster has been fondly known as Monster since well before he was born so that was the natural choice 🙂
Aha, a blog for the little monster, somewhere to put down all the things we do and the fun we have.
Although to be fair, he’s not quite so little anymore, he’s nearly 3!
All I have to do now is figure out how all this blogging stuff works and we’ll be laughing 🙂
